Re-Refinery
Energy Savings
Universal Lubricants' innovative re-refining process saves energy.
The United States produces approximately 1.3 billion gallons of used oil each year, and only about 10% of it is re-refined. The rest of the used oil is either improperly disposed of (damaging the environment) or burned as an industrial fuel and is gone forever.
- Re-refining used oil takes up to 89% less energy than refining crude oil.
- Re-refining oil produces 65% less environment-impacting emissions than refining crude.
Only a small part of crude oil, the best part, is used for lubricating oil. Therefore, used oil is a collection of only the highest-quality parts of crude oil. In addition, used oil also contains some synthetic oil from synthetic and synthetic-blended oil changes. ECO ULTRA actually begins as a higher feedstock in comparison to crude oil.
