Universal houses a state-of-the art lubricants laboratory that provides quality control, serves as a research and development facility, and monitors our oils and their related performance specifications. Furthermore, Universal provides the convenience of an on-line oil monitoring program through our “Life Lines and Engine Guard” programs to assist our customers in their maintenance practices. Additional features are highlighted below:

 
• Lab runs 100,000 used oil samples for customer’s Engine Guard needs.
• Performs 10,000 QC checks on raw materials, finished products, R&D projects, and custmer’s EG needs.
• Runs 500 samples for environmental services burner fuel/re-refinery feedstock.
• Provides marketing and technical services assistance/support.
• Staffed by professionally educated and trained personnel.
• Staff includes 60+ years of oil industry experience.
• Lab contains industry’s latest equipment for ICP-AES, FT-IR, and GC.
• Samples received by customer submitting a postage paid EG kit.
• Report is generated within 24 hours of receiving the sample.
• Results are available via website.  Results are password protected for security purposes.
• Methods/procedures adhere to ASTM testing methods.  Accuracy is determined by participation is crosscheck programs.
• Customer immediately notified concerning abnormal/critical results.
